April Hawley is the head instructor at the American Tiger Karate Kyin Kung Fu Center in Westminster California. Master Steven Gregoire started this school in 1995. Ms. Hawley started her training here in 1997. Soon she became a certified Aerobic Karate and Kickboxing Instructor and was instrumental in establishing and teaching this exciting and successful program. She earned her Black Belt and in early 2000, Master Gregoire having also started a successful Martial Arts Supply business Tigerstrike, came to Ms. Hawley asking her whether she would be interested in taking over running the school.

After agreeing to this career change and getting extensive training in all aspects of running this school, she took over in January 2001. It has been a very exciting and rewarding experience. She has trained other instructors and has implemented and or advanced such programs as the GOLD Team, our highly successful leadership-training program, our Demonstration Team, and special self-defense classes.

Ms. Hawley trained in her teenage years in Kenpo Karate and continued in her adult life periodically taking classes in Tai Chi, Chi Gong and attending workshops and conferences representing many different styles of Martial Arts. Seeing the parallels between the benefits gained in Martial Arts and applying them to all aspects of her life, she feels very fortunate to have found her way into this career and loves being able to make a real positive difference in all her students lives.
