Women's Self Defense
This 3-hour Women's Self Defense Workshop is designed to deepen your understanding of your personal power. From talking about how it feels to say no, to working with basic and effective self defense strikes, this workshop gives women the tools to retain their power.
Women often have difficulty in asserting our boundaries. Since most sexual assaults are committed not by strangers but by people we know, verbal self defense tactics are very important tools in keeping us safe from sexual predators. In our class, students practice verbally and physically defending themselves from aggressive attack. Rehearsing these skills give women confidence in our ability to protect ourselves. Confidence makes us less vulnerable to attack.
The workshop includes:
- Boundary identifying drills
- Practice finding and using your voice
- Working with your adrenal responses to react powerfully
- Escaping holds
- Basic martial arts self defense strikes
While physical strength is always going to help, our techniques are not dependent on strength to be effective. We believe this class is full of information that all women need to know, and we warmly welcome all fitness levels.
One of our workshop attendees wrote us this endorsement:
"April taught myself and some teens. We got so much out of it! Really the best thing to do. I do feel more empowered walking in the world. I manage PTSD and April really helped!"
The confidence this class encourages is a benefit in all areas of life. We hope to see you in class!
- We are currently planning the date for next self-defense class. This page will be updated with the upcoming class schedule soon.
